Last section is a round up with some grandchildren quickly mentioned and Joli, her first child has a divorce and is a writer with a PH.D. Other children are doing well. She refuses to lives with others. She knows she is growing old and is fine with it.

Ivy's brother came to visit - a high and mighty revival preacher but rotten to the core. In her letter she curses him. Very emotional section.

Ivy has 5 living children including twins and 2 buried. She irrationally falls for a roving Beeman (brings bees to a farm. Comes home from spending several weeks with him to find one of her children died.

Ivy is being pursued by two men, one rich but no good and the other a coal miner who is always dirty.
She likes being a mother.

Ivy attends a revival and almost get baptized but holds back. She is attending school and has been asked to go to Boston with her teacher but hesitates.

Author catches us up with basics of the golem and jinni and carries their tale forward. Captivating.

Just started - I have been wanting to read this for a while.

Many changes, deaths and the family has moved into town because they can't keep the farm up after death of father.

next vignette is about a young married woman, Rebecca - only child of a minister who steals, talks to much and the end - I will let you read it. Definitely a surprise.

Olive's visit with her son has not gone well. He has put her foot down about her behavior. Sad and insightful.

continues to be a bit confusing - I will have to review it when it comes time to discuss.
I can see why it was so popular.

In spite of spelling and grammar, reading is easy but can be tedious in spots.
Additional characters are introduced. Her father dies and there is a wonderful section about his burial.

Hard to read because they duplicate the exact same bad spelling and phrases as she wrote.
Otherwise very chatty ad down to earth and interesting.

Very poignant section for me. Henry K has a massive stroke. He is blind and deaf and does not recognize Olive. The prose is similar to my feelings about the death of my husband except Olive is a lot less attached to her husband. She rejects most of the standard phrases.

Very fast read. Intense and interesting.
Will be on recommended list.

not expecting this - philosophy, humor and car racing. Very human comments on owner and his wife. Liking it a lot

Usually I do not like this type of book but so far the book is fast paced and interesting.

Lots of names dropping - Kennedy, actors, etc.

Starts out as an old dog who wants to go quickly - no doggy diapers and pain meds.

90% - another good twist in the plot

A suspect is eliminated.

The team is working with the MI6 agent
