Excuse me, rom-coms aren't supposed to make you cry.

What is the smell coming from Erin's room??? WHY is there a smell? Why does she eat what she eats?

The amount of ick in this book... Every time I put it down, I want to go shower.

Josie was 15 and Walter was 42 when they got together??? Gross.

I don't know what I was expecting from this book, but THIS AIN'T IT. I've never whispered "what the fuck" so many times while reading a book before.

I'm not sure what's worse, all the metaphors and mentions that Vera's father built the house or the scary-ass noises coming from the basement.

"Martin Luther King Jr. had been killed standing on a balcony in Memphis, setting off riots across the country, including in Chicago. The 1968 Democratic National Convention turned Bloody as police went after Vietnam War protesters with batons and tear gas..."

Fifty-two years later, and nothing has changed.

Barely into the first chapter and I've already snorted out loud. This is a good sign.

Too much telling, not enough showing and no editing at all (if someone did proofread this, they need to get into another line of work). The ONLY reason I finished it is I adored Braden and wanted to know what happened to him.

Really good story, but sweet Jesus, the spelling and grammar mistakes. Not to mention it reads like it was written by a teenage girl. Drama! everywhere, everyone saying "gonna"... Proper editing would've been a big help.

Not quite sure what I think of this book. It was an engaging read, but I loathed both of the main characters. Found the ending unsatisfying.

Just hit Part 2 and HOLY SHIT!

Things are FINALLY picking up. Nick's still a tool.
