Second read-through

Ohh.. this is classic, pull-me-in-from-the-start Blake!

The silly and campiness of this book is charming until it isn’t. (Or maybe it soured on me so quickly because I can’t stand how over the top the audiobook is. Imagine Dakota Krout’s “Dungeon Born” but with all the droning on of Charles Dickens’ “Bleakhouse”.)

I’m… going to put this down. And maybe come back when there’s a physical copy ready at the library.

Re-reading so I can giggle and be horrified all over again 🤭

And now to immediately re-read it so I can scream and howl again and stop to enjoy all of the references in depth

Let my lib loan run out before I could finish, but holy shit is this book dark and stormy. I can’t wait to pick it back up

Wildly entertaining from the very start, I was so happy to pick this up.

Bit boring of a start, but I’m optimistic.

Perfectly dark, twisty, and literary. This is one I’ll be adding to my physical shelves.

God I love Freida. This is the perfect book to snap me out of the slump Bleakhouse left me in.

I’m trying to decide if what I’m experiencing (also felt this 50 pages and 250 pages in) is this kind of delirium that comes with reading something so dense. Delirium is the point, yes?
