Second read-through in parallel with Viola Davis’s narration. Viola fans and lovers of legal thrillers shouldn’t miss this one!

Really interesting so far (quote is from earlier pages)—the character conflicts and language-as-magic elements are bringing R.F. Kuang’s “Poppy War”/“The Burning God”and Xiran Jay Zhao’s “Heavenly Tyrant” to mind.
