I said I was going to swear off LitRPG and progression fantasy, but this was suggested to me, and the first couple few chapters seem pretty good. I just hope it doesn't end up like every other book in the genre I've read recently.

For all the good things I've read about this book none of them were in Act 1. too many time skips, a main character who doesn't do anything meaningful towards progression, and aggressive idiot plot all over the place is the main summary. I really hope act 2 saves the day.

I hate it so very much when books start off the way this one did. the book has an abnormally high rating though, so hopefully it all works out.

damn it, this book starts with more random scenes of characters no one knows and no one cares about. What happend to books being about the main characters?

I really enjoy this book and the main character is so fun and interesting, but the setting is hard for me to get behind. so far it is from the perspective of a castle under siege, and it got old so I had to pivit to a different book. I hope to get back into it later though.

I just played this audio book for a second and was quite disappointed. the quality of this audio book is just bad. it is so siblant and boosted in the high end, this shouldn't be happening in a 2025 release, no idea how that was the final mastered product. Sound booth theater strikes again.

the plot stalled out. I honestly don't know why I'm reading it still but I'm dead set on finishing it. The editing in the audio book isn't helping either. There's too many pauses that are too long between sentences. I like the theory, and I have hope that it will pick up and something will happen that jolts me back into it.

It is different but interesting. I could do without the over the top attempt at making every cop look like a thug, but I expected something like it with this author going in. The random virtue signaling doesn't take away from the book though. It is moving slow, but there is a lot going on. It's got me wanting to read more so I suppose that's good.

I'm hooked for sure. There have been some slow scenes but now that everyone is at the same location for the most part everything seems to really be picking up. I'm just waiting for it to all fall apart, then see what comes from the ashes.

I'm liking it so far, and it holds true to the rest of the series. The only part I'm having a hard time with are the Andross Guile flashbacks. They feel too much like homework I have to get through so I don't miss an important plot point. Really interested to see what happens with Teia and Breaker.

Here's to hoping this is better than the first book following Tom Smith. I'm ready for some new scenery, characters, and challenges in this series.

The book really picked up about half way through, and now I'm in hook line and sinker.

It took me a little bit to get into this one. There is a lot of odd detail given to non plot related actions, but it has grown on me and I'm all in now. Seems to be setting up for a really good urban fantasy series. I'm liking the non-human politics and the big variety of supernatural types.

Way more interesting than I thought it would be.

It has slowed down a little bit, but I'm not complaining. I am expecting a lot in the last quarter of the book. There is a shit load of stuff that still needs to be cleared up. Overall this series has been one of the most enjoyable reads I've had in a long time.

Whew...this one started off right where the second book left off and it has been nothing but action since. So far I'm enjoying this one ore than the first two.

I got so ticked off near the mid point I nearly put the book down for good. It pushed me past the point of belief, but then it was all fixed so I decided it was great instead of angering and I'm back to enjoying the book.

I set it down for a couple days, but now that I've started reading again I'm completely sucked back into the story. It's getting really interesting and I can't wait to see what happens to the characters. They've all got themselves into pretty shitty situations, time for them to get out of them...hopefully.

Like the previous book it is starting slow but I'm also expecting it to have a good payoff like the book before did.
