I love that she's really taking her time building the romance. Anything rushed would really cheapen the story.

It hardly needs repeating, but one of the most remarkable things about Jane Austen is just how lifelike her characters are. You're constantly thinking, "I know EXACTLY that person" when you're reading her descriptions of people's feelings and foibles. And sometimes (Oh Horror) you think, "I AM that person".

Ooh, LOVE this development! I confess I was starting to lose interest, but the climax has me very invested!

RE the goat-yeeting scene- are we sure Christopher Paolini doesn't play Skyrim?

Not a huge fan of mind-control as a plot device. It deflates the story a bit when characters CAN'T be held accountable for their actions.

-Ah, there's our Paolini scenery descriptions right out of the gate.
-Gerard Doyle has given Murtagh an (Irish?) accent which makes him sound FAR friendlier than I otherwise would have imagined.
-Thorn is reminding me of a dog with separation anxiety. Unexpected, but interesting.
- LOVE that the scary red dragon has has a sense of humor. Looking forward to more of that

I wonder if the line, "Haunt me Nightmare. Haunt me until I beg you to stop."
Was influenced by Wicked King's, "Kiss me again. Kiss me until I am sick of it."
Looks like the two books came out about a year apart.
