More British chick lit falsely advertised as romantic comedy. Total pathetic doormat as usual.

This book has not yet been released in ebook or paperback but is available in audiobook form. I obtained access to it for free through my Audible membership.

Well, bummer. This book has fallen apart. Sagging middle syndrome. Ugh.

I'm still enjoying it very much. The intriguing premise is playing out in a fun and believable manner.

Okay this romantic comedy is getting off to an excellent start. The Meet Cute is actually funny. And I immediately liked the FMC.

Fingers crossed!! Shirley Day is British. Their idea of what makes a romance novel is frequently closer to chick lit than romance. Day writes for film, TV, radio, and theatre, as well as novels.

I was searching for books narrated by Keval Shah and encountered this book. I read a sample from Kindle of the first three chapters and I was sold. I checked out the audiobook version through Hoopla. So far I really love it. I've been through a bit of a dry spell with successfully trying new authors, so I hope this continues to be good.

This novella is available for free in both Kindle and audiobook format through Amazon Prime Reading. Library

I checked out the audiobook from Hoopla. Sad to say, the narrator is terrible. He's especially bad at Ilya's Russian accent. And it suffers even more by comparison to the brilliant performance by Connor Storrie of Ilya on the Heated Rivalry streaming series on HBO Max. I was going to check out the audio for the first book in this romance series but I hear the narrator doesn't an even worse job on Kip. Sigh.

This author has a really interesting, unique voice, like nothing I've ever read before. I really like the MMC and the FMC. I need to stop reading and go to bed but I can't stand to put it down. I'm a sucker for stories about talented musicians. I really really want this couple to get together. This better have an HEA.

I checked out the audiobook version of this novel through Hoopla. Interestingly, the author is the narrator, and she actually does a pretty good job.

It just dropped today. Self-published novella. Utterly fantastic paranormal romance in a fascinating urban fantasy world. I love all the characters of this series. I can hardly stand to put it down. I know what I'm going to be doing today!

This book is so good! I love the Lennon, the FMC, and all the subcharacters. Her friend Janie, in particular, is a total hoot! This is the slowest of slow-burn romances, but I'm all in for that. Her romantic interest is terrific.

The cat Boomer is a hoot, and I really like the love interest Sebastian (he's a jerk in the Meet Cute but he redeems himself pretty quickly). This is a rom-com that's actually funny in an adorable way. I'm a sucker for a brilliant, introverted FMC. I love her relationship with her older brother too. He's great. She also has three wonderful female friends.

This is absolutely wonderful. It starts out almost like a children's book. The FMC is only five at the beginning. It is extremely well written.

Further interruption of the forward momentum of the escape from sure death with a flashback. Are you kidding me?

Still wasting page space on FMC's angsting instead of offering terse descriptions of her survival prowess against impossible odds. This isn't increasing my reader investment in her survival. At this point in an ebook version I would start skimming. It's hard to do that with an audiobook.

This is what I hate about 1st person POV in an action-adventure novel: the FMC needs to be move or die, but she pauses to give us a backstory lecture on the history of planet Earth. I first ran into that trope in the Harry Dresden books. Jim Butcher is one of the worst offenders for MMC lectures in the middle of deadly fights. Get on with the action, dammit!!!

After a terrific beginning with lots of wonderful romance, the family drama with the parent with dementia takes over the story and turns it into women's fiction far too long for a book advertised as a romance.

The audiobook is a duet narration! The male narrator voices all of the male characters, and the female narrator voices all of the female characters! Yaaaaay!!!!!!

Wow this FMC is irritating. Sloppy slapstick and clueless naivete are not my favorite things in a romcom.

Boy, this is a bizarre YA novel. My daughter says this is her favorite book by this author. I think it's definitely her weirdest one. There is an an MMC and an FMC, and the MMC is an assassin. I'm not generally a fan of anti-heroes. But I'm slogging forward with this.

I can hardly stand to put this book down! It is so well done! There's nothing this author has written that I haven't adored.

I really like the FMC and MMC as individuals as well as their romantic relationship. And though I don't normally particularly care for murder mysteries or police procedurals unless they are TV shows, and I don't typically read historical romances set within the last 100 years, MD is such a fabulous author, I'm really enjoying this series anyway.

I am not enjoying this book. Really really bizarre.

The FMC is the traumatized daughter of an alcoholic mother who deserted her. The last thing she needs as her boyfriend, whether fake or real, is the alcoholic MMC, who is traumatized by his mother's mentally illness.

This is a really depressing. Two wounded protagonists. I keep putting it down and reading other things.

In Fauxmance, Hayden Davenport is portrayed as a sarcastic, cocky, and self-professed player who becomes Magnolia's fake boyfriend for her sister's wedding. He's also the lead singer of the band, HERS, which is a central feature of CO's latest book, Introvert.

The author keeps referencing characters who have not appeared onstage in this book in a manner that makes me feel like this is part of a series. But I don't see any mention of a series associated with this book here on GR or on Amazon.

I don't usually like rockstar romances, but Felix and Aurora are absolutely adorable. I can hardly stand to put the book down. So far this is right up there with my favorite book by this author, Ninja Girl.

It's continuing to be LOL hilarious. Some of his best work!
