This is my second attempt at reading this book. The first time I went in blind and I could not get over the debauchery and toxic relationship. But over the year I have read many reviews for the entire series and decided to push through with book one. On the second read going in prepared it is much easier to read.

1 hour in and I am already dreading where we are heading. I know I will be weeping.

Claire is so innocent. I keep forgetting she is 16. I feel so bad for her.
And I am holding my breath every time Lizzie is mentioned. Obviously I know her story so I have so much empathy for her.

I am kind of bored. And I feel so bad for Claire. I may be projecting but she is so in love with a boy that refuses to be her boyfriend but emotionally acts like he is.

This is the slowest burn romance. I love it.

Up until this point is this book my favourite. I think it is so funny. I am taking forever to read it because I only pick up the audiobook every now and then and I am listening through my library app, libby, so i keep going to the back of the queue.
