Kristin is starting The Silent Patient
Listening to the audiobook on Spotify as a work book club read.

Ruth says, “We often mistake love for fireworks—for drama and dysfunction. But real love is very quiet, very still. It's boring, if seen from the perspective of high drama”

“The line between abundance and disaster is becoming thinner and thinner, and the public is unaware and unconcerned. Must we wait for disaster to be real before we are heard? Will people listen only after it’s too late?” Jack Harlan quoted from “The Genetics of Disaster” in 1972 concerning loss of biodiversity in favor of the Green Revolution. I’m horrified by what I’m learning here.

Interesting. I didn’t know anything of it, just know I’ve heard the name several times and grabbed it off the shelf at the bookstore unknowingly starting it in 2024. The year where the book begins. So far it seems a little too similar to where we are heading as a nation.

Clever and enjoyable to read. Looking forward to learning more secrets or expanding on what I already know to be true about having a happy life.

I got this far months ago. I think I stopped reading it because I know the part that I don’t want to read is approaching. It’s like if I don’t finish the book, I can pretend she’s still living in the White House.
