Forgot how genuinely funny Fruits Basket is!

Helping Hands: good beginning, slowish middle, great ending. I’m not sure how I would have improved this slump except maybe you have shortened the story.

Death-Cup: this is more like what i wanted Fossil Figures to be.

Nobody Knows My Name: So suspenseful despite knowing, very early on, how it was all going to end.
Fossil-Figures: I love the concept and the through-line theme of fossils, I just wish I found the story itself more interesting.

Beersheba: An odd little story, one I don't have any major issues with but also didn't connect to much.

Thanksgiving: this story was surprisingly nostalgic, though for what i don’t know. Love the symbolism and the grotesque description. Astounding.

The Corn Maiden: Such a beautiful, shocking, and mesmerizing story. I devoured this.

Miao Dao: Loved this story, how it was very subtly magical realism without being overtly so. Ending was perfection.
Phantomwise: 1972: Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. The true horror of life is a man's desire for a girl.

Cardiff, By the Sea: What a phenomenal suspense/psychological literary masterpiece. Gorgeous, thrilling, emotional. Clare is a darling and I loved every minute spent with her.

The way that Oats writes “Cardiff, By the Sea” is breathtaking. The fragmented sentences are divine.

Idk if this book was worth the wait

I’m gonna be honest, I almost dnf’d this book because the opening was so boring. The pacing was odd; i think there’s more introductory material than is strictly needed (and do i even need to mention how cartoonishly evil the villains are? They don’t feel real at all). But the monster is finally here, so I’ll keep giving the book a shot. I want the gore, people.

The Model: absolutely loved this one. Horrific, volatile, emotional.
