Richard Koerner is starting Les Liaisons dangereuses
I am about half way through. It is not the fascinating read that I recall from over 50 years ago. Nonetheless, a very interesting book. I feel as if I am slogging through it.

I am listening to it and suddenly, today, found that it was returned while I was walking. I luckily was able to retrieve it. It is a long, very well written book.

Richard Koerner is starting Impossible Takes Longer: 75 Years After Its Creation, Has Israel Fulfilled Its Founders’ Dreams?
A very informative read by a very good writer. I love his objectivity and how he presents both sides of an incredibly complicated situation and what that never ceases to amaze me as I ponder why the Jewish population must suffer the way it does and the way it seems to have been suffering since the beginning of time.

Richard Koerner is starting The Short Novels of John Steinbeck
I have listened to Of Mice and Men, the Red Pony, Tortilla Flat, and now I am listening to Travels with Charlie which for a person born in 1951, a trip down memory road with John Steinbeck as he tries to find the real America while on the road with his poodle. His thoughts on plastic pollution and mobile homes, for example, are fascinating. His thoughts on aging and drinking are noteworthy as well.

Richard Koerner is starting Murder in the Marais (Aimee Leduc Investigations, #1)
I liked this book although it is no William Kent Krueger mystery. You would think that as a French teacher and that this takes place in Paris in the Marais, that this would resonate big time with me. I enjoyed it, but there is something so much more compelling in what I have read with the WKK books. I am reading the second one in the Aimée Leduc series, so stay tuned.

I could not finish this book. I had to put it down. It seemed to be so repetitive and it could not hold my attention. I am dismayed as this is the third or fourth book of Joël Dicker that I have read. I hate dropping a book.

I rarely drop a book but I have to with this one. Although I love the author and have read several of his books, I am forcing myself to read this one and am beyond two hundred pages. It is a long book and I am just not enjoying it and have the continued impression that the same information just keeps getting recycled and reused and is not compelling enough to make me continue.

I could never get to the point of investing myself completely in this book. I constantly felt confused to the point of disinterest.
