Great writing, well-researched, well-reasoned, however, off the top: the title is backward. Nature is not a mirror for philosophy. Such a statement puts primacy on thought, and in truth, thought only tends to reflect nature, and not vice versa(except for God, who can make nature reflect his thoughts).

the introduction brought me to anger with contradictory "truths" of logic, such as "time, therefore, is not real", and "Jekyll and Hyde are the same person, therefore if Helen loves Jekyll, she must love Hyde as well." Now I'm reading hoping for solutions to such mess.

With introductions made and past ghosts somewhat dispatched..... This is doubtlessly one of Faulkner's signature proud-as-heck Southern Gothic novels.

Trippy, and probably intended, in a subtle manner, to point out the absurdity of some of our questions about existence. For example, a man cut in half to increase his chance of surviving radiation treatments. The book is dubious about the status of the two separate individuals then, besides saying they are "numerically identical". Great fun to read.
