Trippy, and probably intended, in a subtle manner, to point out the absurdity of some of our questions about existence. For example, a man cut in half to increase his chance of surviving radiation treatments. The book is dubious about the status of the two separate individuals then, besides saying they are "numerically identical". Great fun to read.
