Jo is the editor of her prep school news paper. She has just wrote an article about mill girls. When she asked her friend Trudy to read the article the reaction Jo got was not what she wanted. I have learned more about why people didn't like the Donnelly's when they first moved to Lucan. One reason was that their son had a club foot. People thought that if someone in your family had a club foot you were cursed.

So far the book has explained the Donnelly's journey to Lucan from Ireland.

The book so far is really good. The main characters Gigi, Neerja and Bea have really step out of their comfort zone. Bea and Gigi have joined the ski team. Neerja is in the play and Gigi is running for student rep.
