i’m already mad

i can say this because i know the struggle and have fallen victim myself, but you can really tell when an author is trying to establish the era they’re writing and it feels really forced. idk what it is but writing about the 70s-90s and establishing that setting is really freaking hard.

this is starting to sound a lot like propaganda to me

one of my biggest annoyances in writing is when it’s so obvious the author put together a consecutive amount of events to get the character to where they want the plot to go… i was told you’re only allowed to have one coincidence in a story and i have the urge to mark up all over the beginning just how many comments and thoughts are very convenient for the plot… maybe i’m being too knit-picky
