Downloaded this book the day it came out. Put off starting it because I knew I'd feel bereft when I was done. LOL Now I am hanging on just for the thrill ride and trying not to read too fast. Again Penny does not disappoint.

Not usually a fan of paranormal romance I find that I am intrigued by this book. It's reasonably well written and, apart from the intense descriptions of sadistic child abuse - which I find deeply disturbing - its plot is entertaining; a network of underground crime fighters who fight supernatural criminals.

Long book, perhaps too long, but deeply satisfying as many of the mysteries and thrillers are coming out of Scandinavia.

Having just lost my beautiful lab in the past week I picked up this book hoping it would give me some comfort. It has. And it's amazing just how strongly the words of this author resonate with me.

I really liked the first book, but this, the second, is even better.

I've finished Book 1 and found it reasonably enjoyable but still trying to figure out the magical taxonomy and topography. Perhaps Book 2 will she'd some light.

A gripping read, although I have had to reread the first 30 or so pages to sort myself out with regard to the character.

An entertaining little very cozy mystery. At least so far.

I have to take a break now. I'm in a very long and somewhat tedious flashback chapter. It's causing me to disconnect from the main plot and I'm not really interested in this guy's hypnosis research. Ugh! But I know it would be a bad idea to skip it. I'm sure it has deep purpose. Sigh!

I really really really hate it when characters in books are made to do stupid stupid STUPID things; or say things equally ridiculous and often out of character. I really hate that. Ugh! Love this book but there is one character(perhaps two) who is extraordinarily stupid and annoying. Spoils an otherwise brilliant book.

Remarkably suspenseful and engaging. Well written also. I hate reading such a good book so quickly.

After reading a dozen or so free or .99 kindle books I definitely needed something with substance so at the recommendation of a friend I got this book. Oh my! It has substance, depth, is written extremely well written and has NONE of the usual stupid grammatical, typographical, and usage errors. it's amazing how terribly I "settle" when something is free. Ok, ok. You get what you pay for. I get that now. :)

I haven't read fantasy since George R.R.Martin but this is delightful.

Okay, this book started out as one thing, turned into another, and while I am not growing any fonder of it, I'm going to plod along and finish it, just to see the main protagonist get her just due.

Plots thicken. Connections too lose to be coincidence. Self flagellation by working moms. Enough of the latter Tami Hoag! Please.

I haven't picked up an Inspector Lynley mystery in a few years. I love Elizabeth George and the Lynley-Havers investigative team. Now I recall how slow-moving her plots can be and this book occasionally plods along in ways that make some parts a tad tedious. But it's great Lynley's back at work. As well, the threads of two different plot lines are sufficiently different that I wonder if they'll ever intersect.

Tami Hoag is back! Although I'm not sure if she ever went anyway. :) This book is prequeled by a shortish story called The 1st Victim that doesn't require prior meeting but sets up a bit of backstory to this novel. A, liking the book, not yet really loving it, iykwim.

This is a continuation of The 1st Victim. I just had to download The 9 th Girl immediately!

The first chapter of The Blue Nowhere was included at the end of Deaver's The Empty Chair. I was so intrigued, and I am so fascinated by the world of computer hacking, that I bought and started this one immediately. And so far (admittedly I'm not that far along) it does not disappoint.
