I'm kind of bored to be honest.

I am not enjoying this book. It's very dull given the subject matter. I feel the author was trying to be wry and funny and do an observational bit of tragicomedy and failing.

I'm really struggling to get into this story. Is it meant to be funny? I get the feeling it's trying yo be funny but failing miserably

This book has managed to make Martians boring. Ugh.

This is a slog. It's not fun. I need to take breaks to reset my head from boredom. I keep thinking if I get a bit further, more into the scifi, it'll improve but so far not. That said the second men have just arrived so maybe...

So far there have been zero women in this novel except references to Eve and references to the long dead wife of a long dead man.

This is a slog. I also feel I'm missing things but not being a. Christian enough and b. A Latin reader and c. A reader of Hebrew. I'm quite bored, but I'm also trapped on a train, so have time to kill.

Trying to read this again. I'm just not really feeling it. Its not keeping my attention. We'll see how it goes

I'm very bored of this book. The character's are really not standing out to me and the not really ancient aliens except its totally ancient aliens plot is convincing.

Not sure if I'm enjoying this but I've started so I might as well finish.

Its just a bit dull.

It gets less boring around 70% in. Honestly if I hadn't been determined to read it, since I'd bought it and all and it's been hovering on my kindle, I wouldn't have bothered continuing. I mean I'm so enthralled that at 90% I've wandered away for a break from the book cos I'm bored again.

We've hit the hurt/comfort huddling for warmth portion of this trope fest of dull. I'm still confused as to how something with so many of the cliches I like in a story is so boring.

I want to like this but its dragging sooooooooooo much. It feels like fanfiction taking itself too seriously. I'm tempted to cast the characters onto shows I've watched. I have a couple of shows that I think match quite well. So far matching it up is the most enjoyable thing about the book. I hope it picks up soon.

I was really irrirated at it and how badly it is written and how much of a Mary Sue the protagonist is but now I've hit bored.

When I was 16 I wrote this terrible Mary Sue Voyager fanfic. It was awful. I think this book might be worse.

There is something incredibly shallow about this. Its the far distant future and the woman from now hasn't felt any culture shock. She's spoken to like four people in several months and none of them have seemed anything beyond a bit odd to her. They've all been ~nice~! She found out everyone she loved was dead and gone (in chapter one) and she wasn't even distressed. Also there are so many typos!!!

I'm finding the book frustrating so far because it feels as though the world-building/character building isn't quite there. I'm having trouble keeping track of the who's and whys. Also it's giving me a "wish it was more like The Wayfarers books" yearning.

For a short story I do seem to be taking forever to read this...

Honestly, you could (and I recommend that you do) skip the first 110 pages and go to chapter 2 where it a. Starts making sense, b. Gets much less boring and c. Gets to the gender performativity discussions that are the whole point of why people read the book.

The style of writing is so annoyingly complicated that I'm not sure I'm understanding a word. So far she disagrees with everyone.

I am quite bored of this, reading snatches here and there just because its on my computer on an open tag and not because I'm particularly interested.

Ok here we go. This doesn't look like my sort of thing at all but I joined a book group and this is one of this month's selection. Wish me luck!

This is my second attempt to read this and its going better than the first, but I can't say I'm particularly enthralled or entertained. If it were a novel I'd have given up ages ago but being short stories it's easier to dip in and wander away again.

No sign of these seven races I came here for. Very sad.

Will this book ever end? It's like a strange masochism, continuing to read.
