I was shocked when D'Agosta's men opened fire on the other policemen instead of checking to see their badges. "NYPD! ... Drop your weapons and freeze."(368) "I repeat, you idiots: take cover! ... Holy shit!"(369). This shows the danger when the agents fired on the police. It is a bad idea to fire at a police officer, and it could have serious consequences for D'Agosta and his men.

I got scared when Nora was explaining Senef's curse. She was telling the crowd that tomb robbers explored the tomb and destroyed every object except the ones valued. It's scary because right after, someone hacked into D'Agosta's computers, which were involved in the presentation. "D'Agosta watched in disbelief as the technicians...frantically, continued to type...."(329). This was random, which makes it scary.

I was surprised when the guard from the crime scene escaped the hospital. He was hurt during the robbery and had to go to the hospital. Instead of getting an x-ray, he just wanted the TV on. He distracted the nurse with the TV and got help from his friends. He switched places with someone in a body bag and his friend drove the getaway truck. "Inside [the body bag] was the long, white, nude form of...Pendergast"(260).

I was surprised when Laura Hayward, lead of the Homicide Unit was asked to be on autopsy.She believes that the deaths of the civilians were an accident and doesn't care what the doctor has to say Surprisingly enough the deaths were in an environment near the Tomb of Senef, so it became suspicious."The Tomb of Senef!Collopy swallowed painfully. this is amazing"(222).It's interesting how it all ties back together.

I was surprised that the supervisor didn't want the police to press charges against D'Agosta. Usually, when you find an intruder somewhere, you want him put in jail for a long time. Instead he didn't want to do all the paperwork so he just asked for the "drunk driver" to never be allowed on the site again. "Just get him out of here...I don't want to see him around here, ever again."(150) I was surprised he got away.

Nora was brave when she went to examine the tomb. Oscar locked her in the storage locker alone and only gave her a number to dial. Examining the artifact took up all of her time, but she was willing to do it - she might find gold inside the tomb. "I have to lock you in. Just call extension 4240 when you're done. No pencils and no paper"(74). It was brave because she was locked in and something could go wrong.

I got excited when Nora was asked to play a lead role involving an ancient Egyptian tomb. It's intriguing that an artifact that old is able to be put on display. Maybe that is where the missing diamonds were. Being able to work on the project allows her to learn more about old times. "Tomb of Senef. We are going to reopen it and I want you on point."(30). This is exciting because I'm dying to find out what happens.

I was most surprised when the supposed "bioterror" material wasn't dangerous.When Curly,the head security guard, delivering a package,he noticed a powder.He and his co-worker both freaked out and went ballistic.They went to a hospital and got treated quick.After the tests were done,the lab-tech realized it was only diamond dust."You mean all we got here is a bag of industrial diamonds?"(8)This shows that it was fake.

The part when Lady Seymour dies upsets me. She has a seizure after dinner. It's so bad the next morning,she can't talk or move her legs. It's impossible to take care of herself, so the duty falls to Isabel. She overhears Madam ask the doctor when LadySeymour will die.There's a lot at stake here.Its all about the money."When will she die.I overheard Madam say"(265)It's sad because when Madam dies Isbabel is in trouble

The part when Lady Seymour dies upsets me.Lady She has a seizure after dinner. It's so bad that the next morning, she can't talk or move her legs. It's impossible to take care of herself, so the duty falls to Isabel. She overhears Madam ask the doctor when Lady Seymour will die. There's a lot at stake here besides money, since if she dies before the ball,Madam will have to be away and won't be able to wear her gown.

I got upset when Ruth got a seizure. Isabel had just come downstairs and walked into the kitchen seeing Ruth in the middle of one of her "fits". When Madam saw Ruth on the floor she started screaming that Ruth was the devil and starting throwing stuff at both Isabel and Ruth." The broom came down on my back,once,twice,but it didn't matter"(94). This part upset me because I know someone who has had multiple seizures.

Mrs. Lockton is a very cruel person.For example when Isabella covered up for Ruth, Mrs.Lockton slapped her so hard."Craaack! Lightning struck from a blue sky;Madam slapped my face so hard it near threw me to the ground"(33). Another example is when she thinks that they are simple minded and ill. Anne says" This one might be simple mided too''(35).This proves Anne Lockton is a cruel person.

Mr. Roberts is a very selfish man. When his only family member left, Miss Mary Finch, he stole her money when she was on her deathbed. When she died Mr. Roberts gained property of her slaves and instead of keeping them he wanted to sell them right away for money. " These girls are fine girls, they'll go quickly. Give me a half an hour on your front steps, and well both be walking away with heavier pockets.(15)

Harry Potter is a brave kid.He was willing to risk his life by going up against Professor Quirrel. Quirrel made Harry look in he Mirror of Erised.He had to lie about what he say because he had to save himself. Voldemort was on the back of Professors head and he said that Harry lied.To save his life Harry killed him by burning him."Quirel raised his hands to say a curse but Harry reached up and grabbed his face"(205).

Malfoy is a bully.He is always looking for the best opportunity to get someone in trouble or bully them.Not only will he make fun of someone but he will never let them forget. For example when Neville's broomstick went all wack Malfoy started calling him names."Did you see his face,the big lump"(pg.147). Whenever Malfoy made fun of someone he ws always looking for a reaction and that is what makes him a bully.

When Harry is being called up to get put in a house he has an big conflict.He does not want to get put in Slytherin.So far he hates Malfoy and he does not want to be put in the same house.When Harry puts that hat on the hat starts saying that he will be put into Slytherin.Harry is upset."Please not Slytherin please not Slytherin(pg.46).HArry Kept on begging and the hat finally put him in a different house Griffindor.

Dudley is extremely greedy.Whenever he gets something he always wants more. For example when it was Dudleys' birthday he got 36 presents. He complained because last year he got 37 and he wanted more. Another example is when Hagrid brings Harry a cake and Dudley steals it and eats it."Dudley on the other hand is off to the side filling his plump face with cake"(pg.24). This shows that Dudleys wants more than he has.

I was very surprised to find where Viel was kidnapped. Mango always thought that Viel had fled the country but instead he was held in New York. Viel had been taken to a run down building near his apartment. When Mango figured out he was there he was bewildered."I would've never expected you to be here. I thought that they would take you out of the state at least"(pg.249).I cant believe he wasn't out of the country.

One internal trait of my main character Mango, is his compassion. After his really good friend Veil went missing, Mango went back to the police station and checked all of his sources to try and find him. Not only did he go through the files but he also went to the pep rally of thousands to find him. "I cant believe that I have to go through this huge crowd but I Will for him(pg28).This shows how outgoing Mango is.

I was surprised when Mango showed up to Viel's apartment and he wasn't there. Mango and Viel have been good friends for about 11 years. Every Wednesday at 7:30 pm they would meet and workout. When Mango walked into his apartment and Viel wasn't their he was confused. "After I walked all the way into the house where his studio was I still didn't see him. I'm getting nervous.(pg.4). This shows that Mango is nervous.

"That girls dress was pretty dam fine.As red as a rose that has just blossomed." This is an example of a simile. This means that the color of her dress was bright red just like a rose. The author used this to make the reader see in his/her head not just the color but how bright it was too

The theme of this book is challenging. Everyone in the book is always facing a challenge. For example Lennie and George are always leaving other farms and have to survive by themselves w barely any money. The crook always has the most work and is living a hard life."All I have is a bed and some books. I'm never allowed to play cards." Even though these people have ruff lives they make it work

Lennie's most important internal trait is his kindness. Lennie doesn't intend to hurt anyone. He always tries to do the right thing because he doesn't want to cause trouble. This is why there is no reason for anyone to detest him. In the bunk house Curly started punching him and he didn't hit back. "George I can't punch him - all I want to do is tend the rabbits". This shows that Lennie is too kind to hurt anyone.

I can infer that Matilda's mom Ms.Cook will make it back alive. Even though the survival rate from yellow fever is very slim I still believe that she will return. I don't believe that only Matilda + Eliza could run the shop alone. In the text it says"I need all the help I can get because I don't think we can do this by ourselves"(pg.227). I'm conclusion the only way that this works out is if the mother returns.
