Starting to be rather done with Cassie. Still completely spineless and self-destructive and negative. I mean, the guy's flirting with her nonstop, his phone password is her freakin' name, and then his anonymous call-out at the fight "might" be her?? She still calls him her coach!?

I'm really struggling with this one. The H is flat and the h is a ridiculous milquetoast, spineless wonder. And her parents have pretty much groomed her to be this way! She's incredibly naive and really doesn't sound 16 at all.
But I love sports romances, so I'll struggle through a little more. We'll see if anything actually happens or if there's a hint of a backbone in there somewhere.

Please tell me she's gonna have a spine soon? Who determines what they're gonna wear at a reunion based on what others expect, especially if they're 'dressing down'? "Oh, I've grown enormously and successfully in the last 10 years, but I'm going to be forever limited by what people thought of me then?"

Molly is really sticking in my craw. Spineless, whiny, bitter, condescending... There's better be some good personal growth in the last third of the book because she's really not likeable this far.

Someone tell me this gets better! This pair of leads is horrible. She's so angry, and proud to the point of harm to herself and her children. He's cocky and chauvinistic (not "romantic"). Someone please tell me it's worth the next 350+ pages with them!!

So far, not impressed with the h. Yes she's grieving, but she seems way too proud, to the point of extreme rudeness to Garrett and potential harm to her children. We'll see how long it takes her to become pleasant

Another whiplash-inducing scene. Anger, grief, lust, denial, petulance, mischievousness... Caylee covers them all in a scene with no transitions between. Like a bad actress showing her full range in one scene. To read, she makes NO SENSE and feels impossible to connect with.

Struggling to like Karol. Bitter as all get-out, and stupidly prideful, but all because of her mom's baggage. Her mother and her inability to get her life together really did a number on Karol.

Really not sure on this one. Reads easily, but not liking the characters. Spineless h, lackluster H (he's handsome, and that's about all he's got going for him), and no less than 3 Mean Girl characters. We'll see if I can push through.

So their first meeting is not the best. And after a chapter with Abby, she just sounds like a b*tch. Please tell me she gets better? So far I like literally nothing about her.

Stupid Audrey Rose!!!! Practically seeking out love triangle drama!!!!!!!! Cresswell can be arrogant and irritating, but the whole love triangle thing is treading on reeeeeally thin ice. This will not end well, and in the meantime, AR is losing all sorts of heroine points with me!

Lillian is a prejudiced moron. Worst reporter ever! She's judging Nathan, making assumptions, and ignoring absolutely everything he says. Really hope she gets better, because right now, she opens her mouth and I just want to throw the book and scream.

WTF just happened?? The entire last scene in the alley post vampire fight made no sense, just whiplash-inducing! She's melting into him, telling him he sucks, kissing him, pushing him away, worrying for him - back to back to back! Each page is a new emotion from her!! None of her reactions seem genuine or consistent with what she just went through. Freakin' idiot character!

This is a giant cluster of a plot. We bounce between characters' thoughts, there are tons of details that would be nice to be able to understand... there's such a thing as too much in media res. Are we sure this isn't a spin-off series, with the world-building already done in another book??
