"Known each other for, let me think... 163 days (163 days?!), and declared themselves best friends on day number one, which is all the time you really need to know if someone's your best friend or not" -- this is very true and I know it because today I decided that Jason Reynolds is my best friend based on the fact that we both think Hanif Abdurraqib is rad.

I HAVE read books since April, but since time isn't real anymore I haven't logged them. Ooooooops.

The alternate universe is making me mad this time around. We are in far darker times now than we were when the book was written, and I just. Like. What if we had competent leadership right now? What if people didn’t hate women so much that they consistently refuse to vote for immensely qualified candidates in presidential races because they have names like Hillary and Elizabeth?

This cover is deeply upsetting to me.

Why is “I lost weight so now I’m beautiful and popular teehee” still a thing? Not very far into the book but I guarantee you this is unnecessary to the character.

I like this book. I like Greer. She’s relatable and realistic. But for the love of a bra that fits, does she not know what Google is?! Girl. There are SO MANY BRANDS that fit a 30H! IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE LIKE THIS, GREER.

I already love this book SO MUCH.

I still can’t figure out why this club isn’t open to girls who haven’t started their periods yet. It would be so helpful to know what to expect, and all leaving them out accomplishes is... well, leaving them out. I would also argue that one week a month or for the first twenty minutes or something it should be open to boys as well, because it’s a great opportunity for normalization.
