I am so close to finished, but know that book 6 is still awhile off!! I listened to this while driving to a series of concerts in November (2 in San Diego, a 3-4 hour drive, and 2 more in L.A., an hour away), and it made for a really awesome week between this book and the shows. I guess I also hesitate to finish because of that too.

Was reading this via audiobook during a week I was in the car for hours, before realizing that - like the other Bridge Kingdoms books - this is a two parter and so ends on a cliffhanger.

I am loving this as much as I was loving the first books, but don't want it to end now! 😆 Sort of stuck, as I'm not at an actual cliffhanger yet.

Okay, so I'm now absolutely and completely team Bash/Eva. I adore these characters and their chemistry and I honestly don't even care that I'm pretty sure of at least one predictable thing that is likely to happen (It's not the destination, but the journey, after all). Loving it so much I want to preorder a pretty hardcover. Just don't disappoint me in the last half! 😆

The first few chapters made me question whether I would like this or not. There was a lot of repeated verbs/adverbs ("choked," for instance, when describing speaking), the descriptions of clothing and the characters looks felt really shallow, the "my family is dead and I refuse to actually LIVE because I'd rather wallow" bit was basically the only thing happening... The FMC seemed a bit immature...

Kind of got stuck with this one. I'm already past where I would expect to be more into this than I am. The world building is great (Ross does such a great job with that!) and I like the characters well enough. I just don't really feel very connected to the story. Might shelve this and come back to it.

Finally, a book to break my book slump!!! This has sucked me in with its vibrance and I'm super curious about Julian, Master Legend, and The Count, and Caraval is giving me some wild "Neverland"/Pleasure Island (Pinnochio) vibes.

So far, not digging the insta-lust here. These characters don't have a whole lot of chemistry even at about 30%. 😔 I like Cillian, and am a sucker for Irish romances, so I will keep going, but it's usually not a great sign when I stop reading to check reviews.
