Eh 🤷‍♀️ I liked the world but the plot was mid, the romance was forced. His pet name for her is “beauty” 🙄. I wish romantacy focused more on plot and less on the dick-downing. You can have smut but at least try to have chemistry between the characters. If you have to have the FP literally say “our obvious chemistry” then it’s not…subtext is a thing that should be used more.

I ended up DNFing. I can understand why other people enjoy the cozy fantasy atmosphere but it was not for me.

It wants to speak to poor girls who want to escape into books but trying too hard to be relatable. There are references to books and instead of just letting those who know, get it. "I poke them with the point end like they said in Game of thrones!!" you don't have to call out where each quote is coming from and it makes poor references that don't hit, "ate raman for dinner for a week haha Im so poor"
