Am waiting to see why this is a popular book.

This book isn’t going it for me. It is the narration, I think. Too forced. The premise about life after death is inventive , and the background setup about a Lanka at war is interesting, but I couldn’t care for Maali , and I wasn’t curious about his death or whom he was going to see.

Premise sounds interesting , Violet feels cute and Nathaniel feels the right amount of grumpy.

Long descriptions of the protagonist’s home compound.

Ooooh, am already hooked and rooting for the poor child, Karim!

Very interesting premise. Am also intrigued by the tone of the book - dry humor.

Such raw prose highlighting the atrocities in Gaza by Israel and the world looking the other way…

Okay, this picked up after the 55% mark. Really!?!?

Fun book, although the plot is a little too predictable

This is one heck of a hard book to get into. I am liking the descriptions of the apocalyptic world but the plot isn’t sticking!
