Mixed feelings. story is decent, reading to find out what happens next, sometimes enjoying it but mostly being dragged out of any immersion kicking and screaming by prose that’s supposed to be lyrical, but is instead jarring. The repetition is so, so noticeable despite reading this in chunks of a couple fo chapters at a time. If anyone says the ‘organ in their chest’ to me I will scream. Loudly.

reading but not relishing at the moment - think it’s getting its hooks into me but it’s slowish going. lots of words I feel are being overused which gets a bit annoying. also the use of ‘male’ and ‘female’ constantly drives me bananas. I get that it’s a *thing* but really wish it wasn’t.

so much is happening that it feels a bit like a fever dream but it’s an easy read thanks to that so props for that!

something about this just keeps me going and going, it’s so pacy and so much is happening and 😩

apart from being aggrieved by the constant are-they-aren’t-they between Vi and Xaden, I’m enjoying this so far and intrigued to see how everything is going to come to a head eventually
