Finally picking this back up. Perhaps this will be the summer of finishing books I never got to during school.

So compelling. I love Joan didion. A lot find her detachedness and a dispossessed observatory view of the world unsettling but I find it comforting. I like that she does not spoon feed the reader the nuances of the sixties, we are simply living the sixties with her. She writes not as an individual but as an entity.

I can’t stop thinking about this book.
