After reading about the ancient religions, I want to learn more about other ancient religions and how they contributed to modern religions. In particular, I wish to learn something about Celtic religions, and I wish to learn more about ancient Norse, Roman, Greek, and Egyptian religions, since they likely influenced modern Christianity, which is my background.

There's something about Emma that is so lovable despite the fact that she can be quite obnoxious. I think it is because she seems immature that her obnoxious actions can be overlooked. And the world she lives in is so happy and cheerful that I can't help but feel some of that myself.

I am still mostly confused, though I am starting to understand a few things within the frame of my confusion. The writing is sometimes quite crude; I don't like that. I don't feel a plot yet and don't know what the goal is. There are multiple storylines that don't make sense by themselves or together. I'm not sure if I will continue reading.

I am no less confused than I was a 4%. My confusions is not allowing me to be fully involved with the book yet. It is also too masculine for me so far. I will give it a chance, though, because I am not bored either.

The beginning seems intentionally written to confuse. I don't really like it. While I am intrigued and want to know more, I am also bewildered. There is also a nebulous sex scene within the first few pages. I don't understand it (typical, so far), but I do not enjoy too much sexuality in a story without romance (which of course is meaningless this early...and the partner is also a dream!).

Past trends are not future trends. I think the author has forgotten this. But we shall see if he continues.

The author gives a lot of reasons that we continue to have improved lives. I think most of these are true. However, I do believe that he is missing some negatives. Out sense of privacy, independence, and freedom in many regards have decreased. I think it is possible that we have indeed reached a time when things could go south. We could over-pollute the world. We could over-regulate the world.
