A revelation of the depths of cyncisim involved in managing Russian politics. In consequence I find it very hard to read such unrelentingly dark material.

I'm really enjoying this, but then I would because it's a huge nostalgia fest - I was there. I grew up in Macclesfield, a couple of years ahead of Stephen at the same school and even some of the same concerts (Hawkwind 1972 - still got the ticket to prove it). An easy-to-read, blow-by-blow account of another age - the birth of punk.

A brilliant memoir. One of the best about cookery as anthropology.

underwhelmed, so far. Too much of a scientific literature review, which I write and read for a living. More stories would make it an easier pill to swallow. I'll carry on gnawing this bone to get all the good stuff. I want to be fast(er) after 65.

Wonderful. I've had this book for a long time, but have never really got stuck in to it. Muir was a great writer and a tough bastard. More later.

A fine book, but a degree in physics is probably obligatory to enjoy it. Very little dumbing down, but a detailed blow-by-blow account of Dirac's scientific career. I'm enjoying discovering all "the other stuff" that he did, aside from his most famous exploits.

Definitely one of the best popular science books that I have ever read. And I've read a lot. Energetic style and an excellent grip on the science, mixed in with personal details of the protagonists. What's not to like?

Beautifully clear. This is straight from the horse's mouth, since Francois Chollet wrote Keras the package that I want to use to get tensorflow running.

An excellent read. Easy going after "The eighth day of creation".

A great idea : stick to a tiny piece of countryside (one meadow) and follow its change through the year in minute detail. Beautifully written with lots of lore and interesting facts woven into the story.

What lovely book. A joy to read. Too short!
