I’ve been reading this “forever”, in fits and starts. I found it difficult both in language (which can be academic at times) and in grasping the timeline. I think it would be easier in hard copy where you can flip back and forth more easily to get your bearings. I’ve been reading a lot of other Jewish history resources and that has helped me get my groove on this. Hoping to finish before 2024 ends!

I’m bailing on this one. Writing is beautiful but plot is not working and is far too slow. Might be the audio version but life’s too short to stick with this.

The language and descriptions are fantastic but so far, the plot is elusive and not yet engaging. I’m listening to it on audio, read by the author. I’m on the fence about this so far.

Re-reading a remembered favorite.

Sobering. A different frame for antisemitism. Thought provoking. And excellent so far.
