This book is extremely frustrating. There's moments where the writing is very poetic and impressive, but there's also moments where it gets bogged down by so much obscure Irish history that the entire meaning of what they're speaking about is lost on me. That leaves me with huge chunks of the book where I walk away with nothing, but spent a lot of effort on. I will be happy when this book is over, but it's been good.
