FFS, Les Miserables is NOT about the French Revolution, and sure, maybe Jean Valjean might know enough about an event that happened 43 years earlier to help an English schoolboy with his studies (but would he, really? He's fictional--does he have memories outside the book?) but surely the Scarlet Pimpernel would be a better choice, since he lived through the events himself?

had to switch to reading instead of listening because the unending uninteresting details was really getting to me...way too much time spent detailing every extravagant inch of the new team's digs, and these two MCs are constantly in their heads, obsessing on the awesomeness of each other--yet somehow I'm not really feeling much chemistry?

I'm sorry--the cops grab him minutes after his girlfriend is abducted and they're not interrogating the heck out of him right now? My dudes, if you honestly think he took her and then quick ran back to the site of the abduction, why aren't you questioning him RIGHT NOW about where he took her?

Not that anything these cops did up until now was remotely realistic, but still.

Even worse, you're not going to ask her about it? Have an adult conversation with your girlfriend, who is maybe being targeted by another SK now, about your suspicions? Nope, we're just going to push her away, convinced she's a cheater because 1 (maybe 2) psychopaths supposedly "punished cheaters" by stalking and killing them. Great plan, dude. SKs are notorious for having great insight into their victim's lives.

OMFG. I was appalled when the MMC had the FMC relive THAT TIME SHE WAS ALMOST UNALIVED BY A SERIAL KILLER so he could See it and maybe notice something she didn't (WTF, dude? What kind of boyfriend makes his SO relive trauma like that? If she didn't notice, you're not going to notice either--you're seeing her memories!) but now he's decided she's a cheater because a cop you JUST MET says that the SK targeted cheaters

OK, now she's just being silly. Why on earth does she assume the worst of Oliver? She literally fell asleep last night while he was talking to her, and nothing about his conduct before that would lead anyone to think he was just discarding her as she's now assuming.

I trust everything's going to end up well here; it's just this was a delight until this point and now she's just being deliberately obtuse. Grrrr.

Oh my god, this book is so dumb. I can't believe there is still another 2.5 hours of this to go.

This guy is making me rage-y. He KNOWS who she is--went into their first IRL encounter knowing--and is actively hiding who HE is from HER. He's discussing himself with her, not admitting it's him. There is nothing about his behavior that is remotely ok. I cannot conceive of any way he could make this asshat behavior up to her...pretty sure a DNF is in my future here.

This guy better do some major groveling at some point, because all he's doing is ticking me off with all of his yanking around with Hazel's emotions. He's hot he's cold, he wants to take her against the door, but he needs to tell her he's leaving ASAP and doesn't do long distance.

So...wow. This had to be greenlit solely because she's a SLOMW member. There's no way a publisher actually read any of this and said, "Yes, this is a well-written book that we MUST publish!"

I don't know that I've ever read anything that was crying out louder for a ghostwriter in my life. There's a story in there, but the execution is really lacking.

I'm sorry...a grown ass woman is going to pretend she didn't spend a week a few years ago with the hero when he's BFFs with her BFFs' significant others and lives in the same town she does? It would be lame if she just saw him once afterwards and wanted to pretend, but to continue to insist it didn't happen? Who does that???
