i don't really know what's happening in this series or why i've read it but this book better be so gay dude

found the second book in this much harder than the first. feel like there’s not a lot of spine to this book, even if i do gasp every few pages at something surprising or beautiful or terrible.

really enjoyed the first book of this! not totally convinced by the world building but thought the characters and writing were so moving and so beautiful, yanagihara is so excellent at writing about the violence and sadness and possibility of love

this is gonna sit in my currently reading for a good long while bc imma savour tf out of it
