Struggling to discern if this is profound or just gibberish.

Jelly
Jelly is 85% done with Wuthering Heights
You know, I think some of Heathcliff's actions have been reprehensible.

How is Austen's longest work also her snappiest?! I am halfway through and there hasn't been a dull moment yet.

Jelly
Jelly is starting Shugo Chara!, Vol. 1: Who Do You Want to Be?
I was really into this series in middle school, but am unsettled thinking about it as an adult.
1. Why do you have to choose 1 set personality to become? Why can't you be a complex human?
2. If I remember, Amu is 11 and Ikuto is 17 and that doesn't sit well with me

I'm only on the letter C and already this is not going well. I get that these were written over 100 years ago but wow.

"How we should pity the arrogance of the worm that crawls at our feet, if we knew that it also desired to know the secrets of futurity, and imagined that meteors shot athwart the sky to warn it that a tom-tit was hovering near to gobble it up"

When it is not putting me to sleep from endless lists of Alchemists, Extraordinary Popular Delusions makes me giggle.

"The number of persons who confessed that they were employed by the Devil to distribute poison is almost incredible."

!!!

It is reassuring in a way to discover that humans en masse have always been crazy and that it's not just something that developed in our modern times.
