Was walking downtown NYC today doing a favor for a friend and happened upon Lispenard St. My heart clenched as I thought about A Little Life and everything that happens in Jude St Francis’ apartment on that street. I know it’s fictional but looking at the one building on the tiny street that his story could take place in was like a punch to the gut. Ily forever Jude

I knew I’d like this one. Another Dickensian day-in-the-life story, the prose simpler than Donna Tartt’s but similar in characterization. The smallest details are heartbreaking, and I know I haven’t reached the saddest parts yet. What stands out to me is how much I love Jude too, and how careful is both his cooking and the descriptions of his food prep.

Read half the book in one sitting. Really nice to find an un-put-downable book after such a dry spell.

I’m on a Sanderson kick lol

Picked this one up as a “blind date with a book” (meaning wrapped in paper) at my favorite bookstore, Sundance Books and Music in Reno, NV. Excited to read it.

It's super cheesy 8 pages in but I'm excited to read this one!!

King isn't messing around with this one, it seems. Mention of Trump, police brutality, and Tamir Rice.

The story is already bloody and creepy and I'm into it, but all the sentence fragments take me out of the otherwise awesome imagery.
"Blood dripping on the boards between his scuffed wing tip shoes." is not a paragraph.
