I like the main character, but this story is choppy and not what the blurb promised. ☹️

"No one knows. How could we? We're just kids." Seriously? WTCrap? What kid would ever say that???

Writing is meh. The characters are too young for YA. Feels like a ripoff of Gone, which I did not like. What is with the spears? Are there no guns lying around??

If this is a "report," why is he randomly explaining details of the world that his superiors obviously know? Also, I thought the stairwell was loaded with cement or concrete past 21. How do they get any lower?

I don't wanna read about Vick. I hardly remember who he is. He, right?

Why does she still have the recorder, and how is she recording in the courtroom??

Even though I don't like the voice, and think the MC sounds more like a 10 year old boy than a 16 year old girl, and the story was sloooow to start, I'm finally getting into it. Things are getting weird!

I'm frustrated for 3 reasons. First, the science isn't adding up, but that might have to do with the mystery of the story. The second thing is that this narrator is supposed to be a 17 year old girl, but feels like a 12 year old boy. Lastly, nothing is happening. I loved the first hook, but I need more. Anyway I'm hopeful this will still be good. Just frustrated.

This book is laced with a very subtle sexism. I don't know how much longer I can take it.
