The letter AE writes to GP on the morning of their wedding - she was so ahead of her time. This letter makes her so human to me. She was this bold adventurer, yet she wanted to love and be loved, and not lose herself in the midst of it. She gives GP - and herself - an out. Maybe having the escape hatch available is all that is needed to not feel trapped.

This is pretty much how I feel about traveling and adventuring. I’m well aware that many people would kill to have the life I have. So don’t I have a responsibility to do it, instead of sitting around watching TV and waiting to die?

I have read several books about Amelia Earhart’s life and disappearance, and this one is by far the most readable and interesting, a page-turner. All the theories that I’ve read about in other books and seen in documentaries are acknowledged and refuted. The chapters’ content alternate between Earhart’s biography and the mystery of her disappearance.

Sucked in already! I love time travel books.

Another great example of WWII historical fiction. I picked this up because I’m going to Italy in two weeks, spending a day in Venice, and reading this book brought the city alive for me.

I related to so much that is in this book. It must have cost the author so much to write it, and it healed something in me. At times I was yelling for her.
