Just finished chapter two. What is this nonsense??? Pleiti needs to smack some sense into Mossa’s head. Seriously, there had better be a damn good explanation for this twist in the relationship, because I don’t buy Pleiti just walking out and not calling Mossa on this.

It’s horrifying. Then it’s weird. The it’s inconvenient.
Then it’s just every fucking day.

This is a fantastic first chapter. Kate Dylan effortlessly drops you into Sil Sarrah’s reality with just the right amount of exposition and twists to keep you going. Can’t wait to see where this goes.

Ai has done a nice job building up to giving the reader Liam’s story. I’m curious what the deal is with him.

The detail of the times of the day when the brother’s ghost appears and disappears… That is freaky and horribly disconcerting.

Just started LINGHUN by Ai Jiang, and just one scene in, it’s already a brutal gut punch of emotion.

So far, the biggest challenge in reading Sorcerer to the Crown is a common issue with fantasy novels. There are SO MANY NAMES. Still, I’m really digging Zen Cho’s world building. She’s done a nice job easing me into the rules of this world and the mechanics/politics of its magic. Looking forward to seeing where the story is going.

This book by Hayley Stone is off to a good start. Curious to see where things will from here. Certainly, I find it unlikely Apostle will be able to turn Almena into the authorities now that he owes her his life.

There’s no denying that there’s obvious indulgence by Schwab in this story, but it works so well. As my wife Sheri has pointed out to me, why shouldn’t every story an author writes be an indulgence? Isn’t that the point?

As fascinating as Addie’s story is, reading Henry’s journey is just as good. Victoria Schwab does a brilliant job running with an idea and having fun (and even a bit of horror) with it.

Watching Henry’s curse play out is almost more horrible than Addie’s. I am fascinated to see how Schwab will resolve things.

It’s as if Schwab read my mind.

As much as I’m loving this book, I keep getting hung up on the fact that no one goes to the bathroom around Addie, no matter how long she’s with them. After all, that’s all it would take for someone to forget about her.

This really is a brilliant book. The twist with Henry isn’t exactly unexpected, but it’s also something mysterious. So many possibilities can follow, and that’s the fun of this story.

I like the evolving relationship between Addie and her shadow. The dynamic adds a nice bit of conflict into this story.

I’m finally getting to revisit this book to finish. I started over, and while there is clearly more going on with Henry, I tend to not be a fan of these “soft boys,” but he definitely gets bonus points for his love of books.

An interesting twist with the ringmaster.

I’d been expecting the twist that just happened. Got a feeling things are going to be less than pleasant for Ming when he finds his former wife.

This really is a great book. I hate that I’m struggling to read it, but that’s no fault of this book. I’m struggling to get through anything this year.
