Wow, this has gotten quite intense. Hegel and dream sex fantasies and Colonel Sanders. Addicted to not knowing what's going on.

People say a good part of Nietzsche's fans are <25-year-old males. Guess I should give him a chance before it's too late. (But really—why haven't I red this yet??)

I am impressed by the breadth of this first chapter. Philosophy of science, epistemology, the mind-body problem, sensation vs. perception (sounds like a Buddhist here!). James has also begun to unabashedly draw out the mind/brain as a system constantly pursuing some sort of homeostasis – I've never seen this drawn out so explicitly before.
Brave writing.

Dan J is interested in this, so maybe I should be, too. Scheduled for consumption this weekend. (This will be yet another return to a classic I haven't thought about in a long time. Should be fun!)

Regularly reading this before daily sittings. It's an outstanding guide so far. Goldstein's writing is flowing and affable – it calms me down and reminds me why I am spending all this time sitting in the first place.
