Well I like everything about this one more than Ornithologist’s already!!

Haven't cried reading a book in the past couple of years but the end of Part Two really got the waterworks going 🤧

Really enjoying the tone and the leisurely pace of this book so far!

The development of the relationship is happening very unnaturally IMO ... Like both of them just accept things as is?????? Also, Shen Wei's personality is very flat/boring in this book compared to in the previous one. Zhao Yunlan remains the interesting one out of the two. But the main story with all the lore and myth is still very thrilling to follow!

More "superpower" for Zhao Yunlan! Nice.

I need this book injected into my vein RIGHT NOW. I wish the story could go on forever like I can read it all year long

I'm gonna be honest ... this book does not pique my interest at all so far

The prince's pov was initially so whiny and anxious and he was such a doormat I couldn't stand him, but he finally got interesting just now, I'd like to see more of his personality. The bodyguard's pov on the other hand was absolutely hilarious, he's so effortlessly funny I love him already. The pace was quite slow with lots of characters and the worldbuilding was detailed, but it's nice to follow and not boring

Gorgeous writing! Gruesome, sensual, atmospheric, chilling. I'm gonna write a proper review for sure when I finished!

So far, I am invested with the mystery. But not with the writing and the MC. Humorous narratives are always a hit or miss for me, this one is just a touch too vulgar.
