Carol is reading The Kingdom
Plowed through it but wanted to quit. I'm learning if in the synopsis the words sci-fi and fantasy are mentioned, it's not for me. It's June's book club book so I'll see if I'm missing something. The premise of the story sounded interesting but won't be fooled again.

Carol is reading Where the Heart Is
This was such a long time ago. I know it was an Oprah's Book Club book and I liked the way it was written and I was glad it had a happy ending.

Carol is on page 371 of 375 of Dumplin' (Dumplin', #1)
I made the mistake of reading the reviews shortly after I bought it and was disappointed I got it. Just ok. I have learned I'm not much of a YA fan. Totally missed the Dolly Parton presence. Anyone wanting the copy may have it. Just pay me shipping.

Carol is reading The Shift: How I Finally Lost Weight and Discovered a Happier Life
It was an inspiration. I found out I am on track with some of the stuff I do to lose weight and some of her philosophy I didn't agree with but she has lost more than 62 pounds and I have lost 2 or that was as of Friday.

I'm hanging in there with the book but it isn't a real page-turner for me. There seems to be a lot of boring parts but then it pick up again to gain my interest. My book club is reading it because it was referred to in The Last Book Club of Your Life. I can't remember if it was the mother or the son who thought it was great.

Carol is 43% done with 'Til St. Patrick's Day (St. Louis Sisters, #1)
Bought the book yesterday, Sept. 22, 2013 at Main Street Books in S. Charles, Missouri (plug for great book store.) Holly Gilliatt will be at the store next Saturday, Sept. 28th and I am looking forward to meeting her. I especially like in her min bio," her passion for writing by avoiding housework." Mine would be similar, "MY passion for READING by avoiding housework."

I'm so loving it because it is in St. Louis and to be familiar with all the places that are referenced. I'm still laughing about "the scarry black guy" when Kate and Viv lived together in the apartments. LOL! I'm listening to the audio book and am on cd # 9 out of 12.

Carol is on page 51 of 160 of The Hurt & the Healer
Mercy Me is my absolute favorite group but this book I'm a little disappointed in because I thought it would be more about them as people, not so much as relationship with Jesus that I already have but we'll see as I progress.
