Neither Grant nor Steph are likable characters, IMO.

It's a science fiction novel with a LOT of real history. I'm having to stop reading to search what's real and what's not. Makatea in French Polynesia is real. It really was mined for phosphorus and then all but abandoned. Captain Cousteau and Monsieur Gagnan are real. (I recognized the Cousteau name.) They are credited with creating modern SCUBA (aqualung).

Teresa is starting The Constant Princess (The Plantagenet and Tudor Novels #6)
I’m hopping back and forth between the e-book and the audio book. The audio book is aggravating. When the narrator reads the dialogue of Catarina, she uses a terrible Spanish accent. It is very distracting and annoying.

Made more sense when Book Two: Our City was being read. I think it should have started with Book Two and then add the elements of Book One: The Island, to the narrative. I think the two books are in the book backwards.

Teresa is starting The Fleece & Fiber Sourcebook: More Than 200 Fibers, from Animal to Spun Yarn
This will always be in my “I’m Reading” stack because it is a resource I refer to often. It’s not a cover-to-cover book, at least not for me. The information contained in this book is extensive and extremely helpful in deciding on what yarn to use or what yarn to substitute.

Character was too small for my update. I had to post it to my Facebook page. Nobody’s dead yet and I’m 27% into the book. That’s nearly 1/3 of the book and no dead body.
