How the fuck do you pine for your best friend for 12 years while dating other people? Shitty and unbelievable.

Unfortunately I can't continue with this. After looking into it, I've learned that there are a lot of other editions with misprints. These misprints are so frequent that it becomes too frustrating to read. It's not just that, the author's way of structuring a sentence is completely nonsensical. There is no character development and honestly I don't know what's going on. Disappointing.

Why does this slap so hard

It's been a while since I gave up on a book this quickly.
I love Halloween and I enjoy middle grade books. I just don't see any writing style, character development, or consistent pacing here. Definitely disappointing.

I need more books like this immediately.

Unfortunately this book, for me, is not at all readable/accessible. I'm also surprised at how subjective it is. I think if I want to understand this topic more I'll try a different author.

DNF. I found the opening chapter to be boring and drawn out. I also can't relate to the female lead at all. Also also, I don't like beaches.

This is essentially a scene by scene retelling of the BBC Masterpiece show Sanditon. This book markets itself as offering "a thrilling completion" to the classic story. This isn't really the case. If you've seen the end of the show you will know what it is to be jilted and gaslit beyond human decency. I think I just like to suffer and this book delivers.

I read the sentence "panic shoving into her throat" and unfortunately that's the kind of dramatic YA drivel I've come to despise.

Furthermore...

120 pages is all I'm giving this one.

-repetitive sentences
-attempt at world building left me confused and frustrated at the lack of explanation.
-dynamic between characters feels underdeveloped so I didn't feel.
-I wouldn't say this author has a way with words.
