I find it interesting and disheartening that she’s still blaming Gaza protesters for losing the election. When she spoke about her convention speech, she left out the part where she said she wanted the US to have the most lethal military in the world. And the part where she reaffirmed Joe Biden‘s entire career. Didn’t mention Liz Cheney. I wanted insight from this book and I’m not getting any.

Ok but did GRRM literally just steal this? Liiiiike I know fantasy only has so many tropes but I feel like Tad probably read Game of Thrones and said "is this f-ing play about us?"

OK, I’m reading this to see what all the fuss is about. I’m less than a chapter in and I’m already confused because the authors note said the FMC’s people are inspired by Romanians… But what she’s describing is actually Roma. I can’t tell if the author did this on purpose or if she thinks that Romani is the same as Romanian?

Why didn’t you just make her apologize that she fell off the roof? I’m waiting for the interest to be revealed as the villain because what the hell?

I'm hybrid reading this and the audio is so weird. The narrator keeps pausing in the middle of sentences. I'm assuming it's because of line breaks on the physical page, but it's really distracting.

I'm really enjoying this book, but as a person with celiac disease, I'm a little disappointed in the rep so far. Most of Seb's symptoms seem to happen off-page and all the celiac-related stuff is just an info dump. Rooney's UC was done so well and it made me feel so emotional. That level of detail and believability is missing from Seb's experience.

Curtis Sittenfeld always writes fanfiction about real people, but this one seems to only have been INSPIRED by real people (Pete Davidson/Ariana Grande, Chris Evans/Jenny Slate) and not overtly about them.

The way Melinek discusses suicide is offensive. I understand her father died by suicide and she cannot be objective. But the language she uses is dangerous and triggering. It's honestly irresponsible as a medical professional.

Too much foreshadowing in this one too.
