ok. im up to chapter 5 and it seems like a dream sequence that’s got way out of hand? im going to dnf if someone doesn’t tell me it’s worth continuing 🙄

reading this 20y after publication with the sole purpose of knowing what the fuss was about that i missed before - i assume a lot will be more than problematic but i did love the intro

ok this is FASCINATING (and also wildly difficult to remember character names if you have ‘number dyslexia’)

medium weird (rather than deeply weird or just odd) so far, reading for book club, hoping it grows on me

in “coincidences that are too insane to be random” news: this book, like the one i finished a couple days ago, is about mushrooms, a special snowflake main character, and includes zombies. what.is.happening.
* and i just remembered - also dreamscapes like the one i also finished right before this. what. i did NOT look at the story summaries before picking up any of these three books. whatttt.

i mean. i have thoughts. and also am still quite baffled. but hey super creative story

still absolutely baffled. the occasional gen z colloquialisms are adorbs tho.

dragging and i don’t like the main character much but i needed something vaguely ya after the holidays

so weird- couldn't finish the last book, then chose this not knowing the subject matter (beyond mountains and portugal) and the beginning is also about a religious artifact being shipped among portuguese colonies. toomuchcoincidence

Ok. no other review mentions this- she predicted 45's slogan!!!!!!! make america great again??????? in 1998!!!! honestly that's bonkers, and even more terrifying.
