Also, I’m at 48% and it’s still the same day that the book started on. Something a bit different that’s made this book stand out

It’s really frustrating me that they keep talking about these two characters, Braylen and Fynn but we haven’t even ‘met’ them! They haven’t had more than one throw away line each but the main characters keep referencing them. I can only assume they were mentioned more in the first book and that this book is not really as ‘standalone’ as i assumed

Good writing, and it’s holding my attention. But so far, all of Gordon’s problems could have been solved if he just stopped assuming things and actually clarified things with people!

Aaaaand I’m sucked in already. Didn’t expect anything less, loved the first two books in this series and number 3 Is off to a good start. Love their writing.

Jesus. Chapter 3 flashback to when they first met- probably the most sexual tension I've ever read in a book. So good!

7% in and the tension between Jules and Nick is already off the charts. I already loved Tara Wyatt and if this is how Harper St George writes, she just scored a new fan,

Partly reading this as research for a book I want to write. Mostly just pure enjoyment though!

'He was halfway in love with her'. Ugh. I feel like this book started in the wrong spot. This couple has had exactly one scene together. One. And now he's halfway in love with her? It's not instalove, they've known each other 2 years but we've been shown none of that. Just told a whole lot of back story. I wish this story had started two years earlier when they first met.

Ugh. That whole, long chapter was the MC describing every room in the house, even the ones she just looked at on her way past. Slow, and completely unnecessary. Get to the good stuff already!

There's an awful lot of 'tell' happening in the beginning of this book. We're obviously being dumped in the middle of a story, and these characters already have a history with each other. It's a bit of a back story info dump. I can't help wishing we'd gotten to 'see' some of these things we're being 'told' about cos they sound really interesting!

Prologue has me hooked! First line had me hooked actually! Great beginning, hope the rest is just as amazing 😊

This has been a really great beginning. There was some stuff that made it obvious this was a middle of the series book, but I'm still following the characters and storyline without problems. Riva is great, I love her big heart and the way she's putting herself on the line for one of her mentee's. And the set up for pushing Ian and her together was clever.

Bugger. Only just realised this is book 6 in a series! I hope it stands alone cos I've just really enjoyed the beginning and I'm already invested in the characters!

Thought I'd take a break before I finish the Tainted Accords series. Wanted something light and quick to read. Already had this on my kindle. Not sure about it yet, these characters are so superficial, it's hard to like them. Tho maybe it's just because I'm comparing them to the characters in the series I've been reading who are so deep and well fleshed out...

Ooh smart zombies- interesting! The end to the barn scene was a bit intense! Though Hendrix and Reagan having a d&m in the middle of a battle was a bit dumb.
