A few chapters past the end of part 2. I was expecting some awful cliffhanger at the end because there were so many throughout part 2! But it was fine haha. Pretty heartbreaking being back in Suus now.

Having breaks between the volumes isn’t so great at this point because the overarching plot is coming together: lots of things forgotten from last volume! This first part has helped explain a bit tho.

I find I’m liking Vis more here in the middle. He was kinda unbelievable as a character in the first part. Sooo many mysteries still.

Stuff is only happening in the last 10%… so many red herrings that I could see were red herrings, and also some twists I called. And then one of the biggest twists being kind of disappointing.

Aww man all this feels so unfair!! Poor Seraphina and poor Orma :( this author definitely doesn’t give her characters an inch.

Nothing much has happened yet. I can tell she’s trying to create a really oppressive ominous atmosphere and it’s kind of working but not entirely.

Listening to on audio. Lots of really good description, maybe too much for some. Narrator is good but I find my mind wandering unless I’m super focused.

A lot of the characters are really interesting: and not necessarily likeable, which is kind of refreshing.

Satchel! Still really great, like reading about the bookstore too.

Love all the different voices! And definitely a bit more exciting than Legends.

End of part 1. So many characters and so much has happened! Definitely getting some Red Rising vibes from this: even down to the weapons being called Razors lol. It’s very readable but I don’t know if I’m drawn to any characters yet.

This has surprised me so far, it’s a really interesting world, and I’m excited to learn more about it. The YA I’ve been trying to get thru has been pretty mediocre but this one is proving better so far.

This was fine, just not really my kind of vibe any more. Liked Silas and the Grimoires, the love and the villain felt too easy/too caricature.

I feel like the title and cover of the book are so misleading. It’s about libraries and books and grimoires. The thorn parts of it are less in comparison.

Still not very attached to any of the characters, except maybe Silas. I feel like Nathaniel has barely been in here and yet he’s the love interest.

Still so sad reading about the fire the second time :( rereading this one definitely makes me realize I love the two written after even more. Still good but not as good as bookshops/breadknives.

Been a lot of telling instead of showing and the bad guys are such a caricature. The world and magic systems are interesting but so far not loving the characters or writing.

Our protagonist is sheltered… a bit disbelievingly so lol. Silas seems interesting.

I like hearing the different voices haha. Also some singing!

Don’t know if I love the first person. Also this guy is 17? Doesn’t seem like 17 at all!

This book feels like a fever dream.

It’s weird but the weird makes me wanna keep reading: wanna find out the truth. I feel like Lauren is not very far away after all.

This book is so weird so far. I have guesses but don’t really know what’s going on. Reading from the perspective of a cat is interesting.

A different sort of journey from the first book but still a journey. I already feel like this book is too long.

I can tell some third act drama is coming but I also kinda don’t care lol. Haven’t felt like picking this up much even tho I likes the beginning.
