Finished Sorcerer's Stone today and continued on with book 2, whatever the heck it's called. Totally drawing a blank. Ah, right. Chamber of Secrets. Had to look it up. It's interesting how connected I feel to these characters. Several times I had tears in my eyes in sympathy for or empathy with Harry and the gang.

While I am enjoying this first book in The Kinshield Saga, in one respect what I'm enjoying most is also what I'm finding most disappointing. The book is a very easy read. I find, however, that the elements so far fit together all too neatly. The characters just seem overly conveniently related or positioned with the plot elements. Still, neat and easy is kind of what I need right now. So, I'm digging it.

While I'm enjoying the book, I admit to being lost as to the relationships between kingdom's and who wants to marry whom and why. These kinds of entanglements always lose me.

I also am irritated at times that the protagonist, Lia in this case, constantly trembles in fear when faced with new challenges. After accomplishing so many things, I'd much rather see her see her act with faith and determination.
