I will admit that Riordan eventually managed to make the really annoying and repetitive humour based on the absurdity of the situation, actually work. Not all the time, but it was working more than it was failing which is much better than how it was in the first half of the book. The flyting was... fine?? Magnus really power-of-friendship'd his way through it which was too easy. All that apocalyptic doom for NOTHING.

I forgot how much I dislike young adult/middle-grade fiction. It is unbearable to read first person POV and have to be in Magnus' mind. This book's only saving grace is that it is easy to read, and I'll finally be able to knock it off my bookshelf as 'Complete.'

Just INCREDIBLE. Wow wow wow. Keneally's writing was absolutely perfect for telling the story of Oskar Schindler. He is truly such an interesting person and it was the incredible the things he managed to pull off. He was charming but also a little eccentric, I'd say? I think that bit of eccentricity was exactly what he needed to do all that he did. One of the best books I've read.

Josef Bau's wedding actually gave me insane nerves, especially near the end when he had to make a run for it. I was PANICKING, but honestly this little bit of sunshine in the Amon-induced darkness of Plaszow was refreshing... I wanted to grab Goldberg by the shoulders and violently shake him for demanding diamonds to put people on the Schindler list. Schindler would NEVER.

This book is AMAZING. This book is almost written like a half-documentary and half-fictional recounting, I'm not sure how to describe it. I haven't read this style of writing in so long, and it really stands out. Just a bit difficult to keep track of all the people involved, but it is still easy to remember/figure out from context clues.

This book was funny, LOL. I think the writing style is odd enough that I might actually read the next volume.

WHY IS TALIA A VILLAIN??? This is NOT who Talia is. Grant Morrison has done irreversible damage to Talia's character.

Lenin's explanation of the state's role in the revolution is so clear. "Dictatorship of the proletariat" sounds scary until you read about what it really means, and then you understand that it may be the only true form of democracy.

The last section: the ruling class and the media they control must sometimes give in to the public. The people will notice when the media tries too hard to keep pushing the viewpoint of the ruling class, so every now and then, they have to give in to maintain the pretense of "the free press" and "democracy." This is how they keep people complacent. This book was so good.

Why is high schooler Araragi getting into a brawl with a middle schooler LOL. This book is so funny!!

Interesting writing style?? NisiOisiN's writing style is quite unique and I think he may be an eccentric person because what he's writing is definitely not normal, LOL. Not in a bad way though. Banter is funny too.

I feel like I have to re-read the entire series to even be able to mildly understand anything that happened in this book.

Everything is finally coming together... but I'm most excited about Gurney and Stilgar 'reuniting.' It's sort of like the old crew coming back together. I can't wait for Jessica's plan to completely unleash and play out, she is going to once again show that she is Muad'Dib's mother for a reason!!

PLEASE LET IT BE GURNEY. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I want Gurney back!!! There's no way it couldn't be Gurney!! There's a reason why Herbert told us about the smuggler name for Jacurutu!!

Lenin is slandering Kautsky at every possible chance LOL. Kautsky is his ultimate opp. I've never seen a bigger hater than Lenin.

The scene of Alia and Jessica in the great hall (where Paul fought Feyd Rautha!!!) was AMAZING. The Fedaykin Fremen aligning himself with Jessica was giving me Dune and Dune Messiah vibes again, I was sooo happy. This is definitely the 'triggering event' and the plot will start to roll, I can't imagine 'Jacurutu' being a real place though. I feel like it might be more of a mental thing?

A lot to say but basically, I pretty much understand why people are wishing for America's less-than-positive fate... "Chairman Xi, liberate us in the West" or whatever it is that the Twitter post said, LOL.

I forgot to update this, but the scene with the corpse was certainly............... something........... Luo Binghe, would you like to be normal for once? Most of all, I just want Liu Qingge's story because he's actually a much funnier character than I initially thought. But also at SQQ, I was literally like, "Am I watching an episode of Supernatural?"

Woooooow, this book is so great, it would be so nice if I could read it instead of staring at the wall all day every day because I'm so awfully terribly horribly burnt out. Like, what?

This book was my accidental companion at the hospital, LOL. One of my favourite tropes ever and SO funny, 4.5/5 stars. First danmei I've ever read!!

A few passages that made me think, really enjoying annotating with a pen and highlighter but not enough space in the margins for me to write, LOL. Anyways, I'm sus-ing The Preacher because when he did the "Silence" and his short speech, it really reminded me of Paul and it seems like he's speaking from a place of guilt, regret, and some self-hatred because he is seeing what he's done to the Fremen.

NAH. NO WAY!!! I don't like Sue any more than the next person but the way Arabella cursed her at the end was FOUL. No mercy, left no crumbs. This book is really making me think about how I actually feel about well-written and nuanced female characters. I'm sitting on the rating but for now I'll give it 4/5 stars, it felt like I was reading a soap opera (I don't like soap operas).

I don't know what to say about the ending, LOL. It's a good book, never boring at any point but if I hadn't read this for class, I totally would have missed all the important points, LOL. This book is good but my ego is hurt, 4/5 stars.

Internal and external factors are destroying Jude. He is slowly being ruined by his socioeconomic status and society's traditional expectations, but he is also ruining himself because he has allowed himself to be clouded by emotions. However, he is able to do what he wants for the first time (although not exactly how he wanted it), and even that is starting to go rotten. It seems that nothing will ever go his way.

I think I'm losing like... the purpose of this book?? I don't know, it just feels like some weird soap opera and I have to remind myself that there's still a portion of the book left to read. Casterbridge was definitely better than this.

Debating if this is sci-fi, but it doesn't matter because this book is soooo good. Me when medical stuff...!!! And I had soooo much fun piecing together how the Institute works, and all the world building was so fun to put together. I love the writing, especially starting at 70% where weird things start to happen, I felt the confusion as if it was happening to me. 4.25/5 stars, slayed.

Open ending and my theory was totally incorrect. There's so much about the Ramans I want to know and we only know the very beginning of why Rama is travelling. I agree with Norton that everything felt anticlimactic but that's not necessarily a bad thing, it just means there is so much we can theorize about Rama's purpose and functions. 4/5 stars.
