Clarke and his hilarious love for writing Unknown Objects In And/Or From Space (TM) is just great. I wonder if the ending will be open-ended just like Rendezvous with Rama... but I am very much looking forward to HAL's introduction.

The scene where the Discovery makes it journey over Jupiter and the second probe they sent brings back footage of some sort of volcano looking thing with a halo cloud on it... that was just INCREDIBLE. And specifically mentioning the volcano halo cloud is definitely laying the ground for something else, perhaps something to do with the black rectangle box thing...
