It's so bleak all of the time. It's a little depressing. Even when they're happy they're unhappy. It's difficult to get back into it.

Finished The Langoliers. I'm listening to the audible and it's narrated by Willem Dafoe which is, honestly, a little distracting. The voice he used for Bethany reminded me of his character in drag from The Boondock Saints and I just kept hearing him say, "Johnny Bevo sent me, as entertainment." 😏 Funny, but it doesn't really set the right mood.

I'm pretty sure I am not really enjoying this book, but I'm compelled to finish it regardless. I don't like Ender. I don't like reading a story told from his limited perspective, because he's six. Even with all of his supposed superiority he is incredibly naive (because he's six, he ought to be naive, he's a baby) and it makes me naive by proxy, I don't like it.

Really making progress, it's not at all like I'm reading this on my teen minute breaks in the middle of a warehouse. Not. At. All.

The book isn't particularly interesting yet, that's negatively affecting the amount of time I'm willing to spend reading it, so it's slow going. Thus far, the book is nearly identical to the movie, so reading the book after watching the movie (once) feels repetitive.

I don't give a frilly f*ck about Halo but this story is good. I am emotionally invested in the main character, their story arch, the fate of his family/friends. Kudos, author guy.

I don't really know why I'm reading this, I'm not much a fan of the games...it's an acceptable story thus far. I'm hoping they actually explain things and don't make the reader get the answers from the games. I like my literature in literature form, thanks. (and, the games give me motion sickness from the first person POV)

I can't seem to force myself to read more than a couple of pages. Grr! Teeny-bopper nonsense!

Having read numerous reviews saying that all of the main character's plans are pointless, time wasting, and totally antithetical to forwarding the plot, I find it more difficult to suffer through the endless build up to finding The Book, which will ultimately prove useless.

I like that there's a whole bunch of crap that I don't understand about what's going on, but the main characters do (or possibly just don't care), so none of it's explained. A book that takes the bold step of not including the reader.

Good f**king God! What the hell is wrong with this book? Lena, I get, I get that she has mystical powers or whatever and crazy things sometimes happen to her but Ethan? He's having visions and hearing Lena's thoughts and he's just like, 'eh, just another day'? No. Eff you story.

I feel like I'm missing something. Were I to have a weird dream about someone I'd never met, and then I met them, I would not try to prove to said person that they were in my dream, that I was in my dream, I would just shut up and think it's weird because it's just an effing dream. Seriously, why am I reading this? Glutton for punishment, I am.

I stopped reading for a day and completely forgot the main characters name, he's that awesome. I can only assume the author attempted to make the lead male just for the "novelty" of it but he is so not anything like a teenage boy. And I get it, he hates EVERYTHING, shut up already and start living your life, you whiner!

About three things I was positive. First, Ethan Wates is a total girl. Second, there is absolutely no difference between this book and another whiny YA romance book. And third, I have no idea why I'm reading it.

I have to wonder if this author is capable of writing a character who isn't thoroughly unlikable. Every story adds new characters I can't stand. Now it's 'angry taking-one-for-the-team-by-repressing-his-homosexuality-to-impregnate-a-wolf-chick' guy and 'insanely people pleasing to the point of letting anyone, anywhere, fuck him in any way regardless of what he wants' guy.

I'm not liking the intercutting between the story, news articles written about Carrie posthumously, and the constant shifting between POVs. Also, I can't stop seeing Sissy Spacek as Carrie, even though she's described extremely different, and it's annoying me.

I do so loathe first person narration. Why for you do this Mr. King? I no do nothing bads to you. Seriously, why? I feel trapped with Edgar Freemantle.

Went too long without reading it, had to go back and reread it again. Still cringe-worthy.

I can't tell if I'm loving this story or not. It's so emotionally disturbing. Like this; I found myself agreeing that one of the main characters should suicide, and then hoping no one found him before he was good and dead. Not because he was an awful character, but because I wanted him to be able to get away, get some peace. Disturbing.

My percentage is totally arbitrary, I have no idea how long this story is but I'm on 'chapter 6' so...

I am on the verge of a rage quit. I skimmed about 80% of this chapter. I just really do not care about this plot. Aliens, magic, super secretive warriors on a super secretive quest of blah. It's convoluted and silly.

Starting over again. Eventually, I'm not going to get bored and leave it so long I completely forget what's happened.
