The fact that this won the Pulitzer is the only reason I picked it up, I don’t really like war novels. I love the alliteration and rhyme sprinkled throughout, this is really fun to read!

Maybe I shouldn’t have chosen this as my first Fredrick Backman due to how triggering it is. I’m shocked that this was written by a man, he handles the topic of sexual assault so delicately and never adds nuance to the perpetrators perspective and has endless sympathy for the victim which I really appreciate
